What is the deal? Who picked the coaches for Dual State. You guys seriously need a veteran coach in place of an 8 and under coach. No disrespect to anyone. Please consider the following if it's not to late.
here are some suggestions.
Gary Graville - knows the kids good motivator Chad Whitford - Best at motivating kids Keith Pixley - good matside coach

not only does gary know the kids, he is a seasoned veteran. he has 5 dual team trips to chicago under his belt. if anybody knows how to mix-up the line-up, its him . just a suggestion to seriously consider.

The coaches were chosen at the last board meeting. If you wanted to voice your opinion you should raise that at the board meetings.
The Coaches the club chose have all ran practices and know the kids pretty well. They are not perfect and no one is, but they are all in it for the right reasons. Everyone of the coaches have wrestled in high school, or even college. they have the mat experience and the coaching experience will come with time.
Kevin - wrestled varsity on some of the toughest Granite Teams ever. top 10 in the nation at one time. he was 1 match short of qualifying for state
Tommy- Wrestled at Lindenwood University. Qualified for state twice, should have placed but broke his leg senior year in the finals of Geneseo. 105 wins in high school.
Jeff- 3 time state qualifier placed 6th at state sophmore year and should have placed his senior year if it was not for a bad call. had 151 wins in high school
Mike-Wrestled varsity in college at Illinois College, varsity captain in high school. Nothing against the guys you mentioned. They are all good people and know the sport. They all are vital to this organization.

I think some people on this board need to think about what they say before they say it. Im not sure which coach you are complaining about or if your complaining about all of them but each coach has had plenty of wrestling experience. The board selected these coaches in a meeting in january like george said. No disrespect to any of the coaches you named because they all are essential assetts to this team and have all helped in thier own way. As for the eight and under coach, i believe you are talking about kevin, he has an impecable coaching record. Hes wrestled for the kids club, through junior high, and through high school as a varsity letterman when granite was the toughest it has ever been. He was on the teams that established Granite City as a continueing power house in the south. He has also been helping out with the kids club since i came up in the club. He helped my dual team onto a state championship, and three other medals in IWF and he also coached my brothers dual teams to three other state dual team medals. For anyone to say that he is not qualified for the job obviously does not know his credentials because saying he is just qualified for the job is an understatement. However if you still have a complaint or a concern we will be having another meeting in february and if you post your name with your statements we can make sure you are there to voice your future comments and concerns.

Please explain a little...is it all the coaches or just the particular the "little" kids coach? If you have a issue with the one particular coach, it might be a little better to know who each of these coaches are before criticizing.
As for your answer - these coaches were voted on by the board the parents at the meetings. Gary Graville did not ask to be a coach on the team. He has however, given his knowledge to the current coaching team and has assisted. Keith Pixley, who was unable to be present at the meeting, did not express any interest in coaching either. Keith has helped keep a positive attitude on for this team and has cheered the entire team on their journey to state. Chad Whitford changed his mind on coaching. He was not voted in as a coach for the dual team. He has opted for him as well his kids to not be a part of the team this year.
Sort of what Coach Carney said - if there questions or concerns, please talk with us in person and we will answer anything we can.

i personally have no interest in being a dual-team coach. just a little too much limelight for me. i read the above post,s and i dont feel they meant to attack any of the 4 coaches past wrestling accomplishments or coaching abilities. i do think gary graville could help the dual team from the side-lines in selecting the right kids to send out to verse their opponents. gary is good at what he does and was asked by george to help out. i dont think he should be looked over. lets go up there with a positive attitude and kick their butt.................... i really believe we can do it. but it all has to fall in place.

I agree... Let's go up there with a positive attitude.
We can compete with anyone. We just need to have a good day of competition.
We have some great kids, and that is what it is all about.
All coaches on our roster are MORE THAN WELCOME TO COME AND COACH. I will be at Willowbrook high school coaching from the stands and cheering our boys on. Let's leave our egos at the doors and help these kids compete.
